Where I live it is spring and you can already see it in the fruit and vegetable stalls of the markets, as if from one moment to another they became a garden full of flowers. To dress the table with colors and everything that spring allows us.

A walk through the market brings me new colors and flavors, although that is not all. Apart from all the aroma, flavor and texture that seasonal foods offer us, we must also consider the savings for our pocket that buy these foods. Although today we can find the same fruits practically all year round, buying fruits from other seasons will cost much more, apart from the fact that their flavor will no longer be as intense as in other seasons. The fruits of the season will be cheaper for us because they are those that are grown close to where we live and are in their ideal natural ripening moment.

In spring, citrus fruits are the protagonists on our tables. The season of flowers gives way to strawberries, apricots, cherries, melons, medlars, etc.

In addition to fruits, potatoes, green asparagus, different types of lettuce, tomatoes, peas and aubergines also reach their splendor in spring. What can be more refreshing than a lettuce or asparagus salad, or a pea soup or stuffed aubergines…?

1- Strawberries: a fruit rich in vitamins C, A and folic acid. It is also rich in minerals such as iodine, iron, magnesium and potassium. It is a cleansing fruit and very suitable for strengthening bones. It is indicated for children over 18 months.

2- Cherries: a fruit rich in vitamins A, B, C and E, in minerals such as potassium and calcium. It is highly indicated in cases of constipation, obesity and joint ailments.

3- Apricots: a fruit rich in fiber, vitamin A, potassium, calcium and magnesium, apart from its antioxidant action.

4- Melon: a fruit rich in vitamins A, E and C. Very suitable for children's bones and teeth. It is also an antioxidant.
